In March and April daily 12 to 20 knot thermal sideshore winds in this area have attracted increasing numbers of kitesurfers/kiteboarders from all over the world.
Nearby Hua Hin we have discovered a beautiful bay at Sam Roi Yot National Park which has all the ingredients for a perfect kitesurfing/kiteboarding learning spot: - great wind,nearby islands cause the wind to accelerate. - flat water. - a huge shallow area where you can stand everywhere. - beautiful scenery with nearby islands and mountains around you. - no obstacles such as boats, jetskis or people, occasionally you see someone on the beach or a few cows. For day 3 of the course, (the boardriding stage), we give you the option of
learning at Sam Roi Yot National Park or at Hua Hin beach, the choice is
yours ! *For our kitesurfing/kiteboarding students we provide transportation from Hua Hin to the nearby Sam Roi Yot national park free of charge.
Our Beginners 3 day Course Lesson Schedule: 1. Day 1 : Hua Hin beach (by the Hyatt Regency Hotel) 2. Day 2 : Hua Hin beach (by the Hyatt Regency Hotel) 3. Day 3 : Sam Roi Yot National Park or Hua Hin beach.
During the months March and April the Gulf of Thailand experiences very steady and consistent thermal winds between 12 and 20 knots and on some days stronger. PLEASE NOTE. The wind that Hua Hin and Sam Roi Yot natinal Park experiences is a thermal wind ,it is caused by the heating of the land, wind sites on the internet such as "windguru" or "windfinder.com" don't show this localised thermal effect, they might be showing only 3 to 4 knots of wind whilst in reality it's blowing 18 knots. What you have to look at is the wind direction on for example a windfinder.com weather map, if the wind direction is south east or south in March or April then you are sure to get wind.
