Pattaya

For the best surfing in Thailand just outside of Bangkok check out our Pattaya kitesurfing school!

If you’re booking for an amazing experience surfing in Thailand but don’t have time to travel too far from Bangkok, our Pattaya kitesurfing school is perfect for you! We are excited to welcome you to Pattaya, named after the strong winds which come from the South West at the beginning of every rainy season. Up to 40 years ago Pattaya was just a sleepy fishing village,  but the Vietnam war changed it. America sent soldiers to build the air base at U Tapao (40km south of Pattaya) and many of these took to spend their time and money in Pattaya. Pattaya is Thailand’s one of the best beach resort and attracts annually about a million tourists from all over the world. Pattaya provides high standard resorts, hotels, restaurants, sports, entertainment and shopping facilities. If you get bored with chilling out the beach, or all that warm tropical water, there are go-karts to race, guns to shoot and elephants to ride! First-class diving, paragliding, Go-Kart, Ultralight flights, Paintball, Golf, Snooker, Muay Thai boxing, Bowling, could all also be on your list of things to do on days without wind.

The west coast is Thailand’s most important diving center and the east coast is also a paradise for golfers and an ideal place for surfing in Thailand, as it has an environment that is very comfortable for beginners with sandy beaches, lighter winds and no rocks or reef. Pattaya is also the number one spot in Thailand for the hydrofoil. All year round, Pattaya offers winds that are suitable for lessons. The wind ranges from 8 – 20 knots, perfect for the beginner & intermediate kiteboarders and the hydrofoil. Water temperatures range from 26-28 Celsius throughout the year.

We have classes for beginners and experienced kiteboarders alike, with the closest kitesurf shop to Bangkok!

At our Pattaya kitesurfing school, you can:

  • Book kitesurfing, hydrofoil and SUP lessons
  • Rent kiteboarding, hydrofoil equipment and SUP boards

TOM

MANAGER/INSTRUCTOR

Hi, I am Tom. It is the only great place to teach kiteboarding and hydrofoil in the local area. We have shallow water and a big beach. Our complex is called ‘The Blue Lagoon’ and has a great restaurant, showers/ toilets and a windsurf club.

Pattaya has lght wind, less crowded and sandy beaches are perfect for a beginner.

DA

INSTRUCTOR

Call me DA! I started kiteboarding 9 years ago in Pattaya – a very light wind location. This has allowed me to gain a very good understanding of kite control and it’s importance.
Now being in Koh Phangan, I am blessed to have amazing wind everyday! It is really a paradise spot for kiteboarders… from rookies to advanced riders alike! Don’t say NO, give this sport a chance and you will see why we are all crazy about kiteboarding!

SAAM

saam@kitethailand.com

INSTRUCTOR

I am Saam! and I am also one of Kite Thailand's first Thai instructors. My kiteboarding journey began nearly 11 years ago, over this time I learnt so much about the sport itself along with the different wind patterns throughout all Kite Thailand locations.
I hold plenty of experience with all sorts of kites; from C-kites to modern bow kites, as well as hybrids, foils and everything in-between! I used to love Freestyle riding but over the years I have slowly went back to 'old school' Freeride as it is less taxing on the knees. I have taught thousands of students from all over the world - I hope I get to teach you next!

Contact:

If you are coming to the club, then the best option is to tell the taxi driver soi/street 14 beside the ambassador city hotel. The club can be difficult to locate – to make things easy, grab a taxi or motorbike and get the driver to call me for direction. Phone – 085-134-95-88. Printing out the map is also a great idea.
